Executive Assistant Debbie Buchanan serves as staff liaison to the Historic Preservation Commission.
Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) members are appointed by the Village President and subject to the approval of the Village Board.
All meetings are open to the public. Meetings are generally held at 6:30 pm on the third Monday of each month at the Village Hall. Meeting agendas and public notices of any Historic Preservation Commission meetings will be posted at the Village Hall at least 48 hours before the meeting.
The HPC operates the Settler's Cottage Museum located at 198 N. River Street in front of the Village Hall. They are actively seeking donations of photos and other historic memorabilia that they will catalogue and preserve for future generations. Two major events organized by the HPC each year are the Car Show (PDF) during Montgomery Fest in August and the Cemetery Walk in October.
