The Village of Montgomery and Montgomery Police Department recognizes the invaluable contributions of its professional civilian law enforcement staff during Law Enforcement Civilian Personnel Appreciation Week, observed from June 2 to June 8, 2024 by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP) and other Illinois agencies.
Law Enforcement Civilian Personnel Appreciation Week is a time for communities to express gratitude for the essential roles played by civilian staff in law enforcement agencies. From administrative support to technical expertise, these individuals are the backbone of law enforcement operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of departments and enabling officers to fulfill their duties effectively.
"Behind every successful law enforcement agency are the dedicated civilian professionals who play a vital role in supporting our mission," said Chief of Police Phil Smith. "This week provides us the opportunity to recognize the tireless efforts of our Community Service Officers, records personnel, administrative staff, social worker, dispatchers, and many others whose exemplary service are essential to our community."
At the Tuesday, May 28, 2024 Board Meeting Village President Matt Brolley read a proclamation and invited available staff to the front to thank them personally for their service to the Village.
