Officer Bryan O’Neill of the Montgomery Police Department has been recognized with the prestigious Life Saving Award for his courageous and selfless actions in preventing a tragedy. Officer O’Neill demonstrated exceptional bravery and commitment to public serve when he intervened to save the life of a resident.
At the May 13 Village Board Meeting, Officer O’Neill was commended for this quick response and swift action in the situation. He exhibited remarkable poise and quick thinking, ultimately preventing the loss of a life. Chief Phil Smith praised Officer O’Neill’s heroism, stating, “Officer O’Neill’s actions exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and compassion within law enforcement. He undoubtedly saved a life, and his actions reflect great credit upon himself and the Montgomery Police Department.”
The Life Saving Award is bestowed upon individuals who demonstrate extraordinary valor and commitment to preserving life, often in the face of danger. Officer O’Neill’s unwavering dedication to protecting and serving the Village of Montgomery embodies the spirit of this honor. Chief of Police Phil Smith and Village President Matt Brolley presented the framed certificate to Officer O’Neill, his parents, siblings, and fiancé were in the audience to witness this honor as well.
