At 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9th, a presentation on the amazing science taking place at Fermilab will be offered in the Board Room at the Village Hall, 200 N. River Street. For nearly 50 years Fermilab has been a landmark in the Fox Valley, and a world leader in scientific achievement around the world. But what really goes on there?
Andre Salles of Fermilab's Office of Communication will explain in simple terms the amazing science that has been happening at Fermilab for decades, and the new experiments that will keep the lab at the forefront of physics for decades to come.
Andre is the media and community relations specialist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Prior to taking that job in 2012, he spent 17 years as a journalist, most recently with the Beacon-News in Aurora and with Patch in Montgomery and Oswego.
This free event is being offered by the Village of Montgomery. There is no charge and the building is handicapped accessible. The monthly Senior Lunch and activity will begin at 11:00 a.m. after the presentation. There is a $4 cost for the lunch and pre-registration one week in advance is required.
