[ARCHIVED] BBQ Contest and Concert in the Park June 11th

Head on over to Montgomery Park on June 11th at 5:00 p.m. for the BEST BBQ contest (with free samples) and a free Concert in the Park afterwards at 7:30 p.m.

Village President Matt Brolley will serve as host judge for the contest, assisted by representatives from Aurora and Hinckley, along with Senator Linda Holmes. They will be selecting the Best BBQ from area restaurants in this exciting contest, and free samples will be available to the audience. It will be a fun evening of food, cooking tips and country music. Restaurants wanting to participate can call the Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau at 630-256-3194 or email Sales@EnjoyAurora.com. In case of inclement weather, the BBQ contest will take place at the Village Hall, 200 N. River Street.

An open air concert featuring country music by Smokin’ Gunz, a top 40 band voted best country rock band in 2011, will follow the BBQ judging at 7:30 p.m. in the park. Smokin’ Gunz plays all the top country favorites, including oldies as well as current hits. More information about Smokin’ Gunz can be found on their website at http://www.smokingunz.net/.

Just bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an evening of BBQ and country music. Montgomery Park is located at the corner of River and Mill Street in Montgomery.
