IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING GARBAGE AND RECYCLING FOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 12
January 12, 2024 | 4:06P
The Village received notification from our waste hauler that the road conditions were too dangerous for their drivers to continue with their routes. Approximately 25% of the homes on today's collection route are complete. This delay leaves approximately 600 homes (75% of Friday's schedule) without service. Today's garbage route included Lakewood Creek (single-family) subdivisions, Montgomery Crossings (east of Lakewood Creek Dr.), Orchard Prairie North, and Saratoga Springs.
Additionally, this morning's severe weather has caused the region's landfills to close for safety, leaving waste haulers without a place to dispose of the garbage causing further issues for today's collection. At this time, we know the remaining garbage will not be picked up by LRS today. LRS hopes to collect missed homes tomorrow morning, but if weather conditions continue, they cannot. They assured us they were doing their best to recover all the garbage quickly.
LRS is working to devise a plan of action. The forecasted freezing conditions will likely cause continued service issues across Chicagoland. Next week's garbage schedule will run as planned; the Martin Luther King holiday will not affect the schedule. LRS has identified the missed homes today, and if Saturday's weather does not allow for collection, they will try each day to collect what they can while handling the regularly scheduled pickups.
We will continue to update the community as we are able. If you have any questions, please contact LRS directly at 844-NEED-LRS (844-633-3577) or email service@LRSrecycles.com.
