[ARCHIVED] Volunteers Sought for Montgomery Flower Planting

Volunteers are needed to help plant flower boxes along the Mill Street Bridge in downtown Montgomery on Saturday, May 17th. Planting will begin at 9:30 am and should last until 11:00 am.

The flower plantings are an annual event for the Village of Montgomery Beautification Committee, chaired by Montgomery Village Trustee Stan Bond.

"The flowers we plant during this event will flourish and bloom all summer long adding a festive and colorful atmosphere to downtown Montgomery," Bond said.

"No special gardening skills are required, and all materials are provided. Some volunteers do bring their favorite pair of gardening gloves," Bond added. "Registration is not required, just come as you are and join some neighbors in having a good time and bringing natural beauty to the area."

For more information, contact the Village of Montgomery Public Works Department at 630 896-1354, or email bond@ci.montgomery.il.us to reach Trustee Bond.
