Does the Village of Montgomery have cooling centers?
The protocol for opening cooling center is an extended period of time with temperatures in the upper 90s, or a large area affected by a sustained power outage expected to last for several hours while the temperatures are very high.
Montgomery Police Department at 10 Civic Center Avenue. This building is open 24/7. For information on availability and hours, call (630) 897-8707.
Park District Police Building at 1460 S.E. River Road (Rt. 25). For information on availability and hours, call (630) 264-7421.
Village Hall at 200 N. River Street. This building is open as a cooling center during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Both of these buildings have public restrooms and drinking fountains as well as seating for anyone who wants to use them as a cooling center.
