The Montgomery Police Department actively engages with the community, school districts, and local nonprofits. Annually the Department hosts various educational and fun special events, hosts outdoor meet and greets with the Officers, raises money for the Special Olympics, and coordinates their annual Shop with a Cop to support local families in need.

Welcome Officer Chaidez, the Newest Sworn Member of the Montgomery Police Department | September 2025


The Village of Montgomery is proud to welcome Officer Jovani Chaidez as the newest sworn member of the Montgomery Police Department.

On August 22, Officer Chaidez graduated from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA), where he successfully completed extensive training in preparation for serving the community. At the Montgomery, September 8, Village Board Meeting, Officer Chaidez was officially sworn in by Village President Matt Brolley. His parents and three older brothers were present and proudly pinned on his official Montgomery Police Department badge.

Sergeant Ricedorf Receives Prestigious FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award | May 2025

The Village of Montgomery proudly recognizes Sergeant Jeff Ricedorf of the Montgomery Police Department for successfully completing the prestigious FBI-LEEDA Trilogy training program- a significant milestone in law enforcement leadership development.

Between March 2024 and April 2025, Sgt. Ricedorf completed all three courses offered through the FBI-LEEDA (Law Enforcement Executive Development Association): the Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI), the Command Leadership Institute (CLI), and the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI). Upon completion, Sgt. Ricedorf was awarded the Trilogy Award and is the first member of the Montgomery Police Department to achieve this distinguished honor.

Each year our Police Department hosts various events for the community to encourage POSITIVE POLICE interaction and provide education to our youngest residents on safety, emergency planning, and careers in law enforcement.
