Mission: To strengthen the community by connecting those in need with nourishing food and access to area resources.
Who We Serve: The Aurora Food Pantry is committed to providing nutritious food relief to the community in a humanitarian and compassionate manner.
Through client choice, our neighbors can select the food that best meet their needs. The number of items a client receives is determined by the size of their family and the stock available. By offering choice, less food goes to waste, clients can better plan meals for their family’s needs, and we are able to serve our community with dignity and compassion.
Mission: CASA Kane County is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization, dedicated to advocating for children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are subsequently placed in foster care.
We recruit, train, and supervise volunteers who serve as the child’s voice and the judge’s eyes and ears throughout the duration of their case in juvenile court.
Who We Serve: Children with advocates reach a permanent, stable home faster. Most often, the CASA/GAL volunteer is the only person in the foster child’s life that isn’t paid – the foster parents, therapist, social workers are all paid and the kids know that. When a CASA/GAL volunteer comes and says “I am here, just for you,” that is powerful and life-changing.
Mission: CASA Kendall County advocates for the best interest of children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
We train and support dedicated community volunteers who serve to protect a child’s right to a safe and permanent home. We are the child’s voice in court.

Mission: Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
Who We Serve: Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
Mission: Hesed House’s mission is to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless and give people the chance to hope again. Hesed House is a national model for ending homelessness – one person, one family at a time.
Who We Serve: Hesed House has two onsite shelter programs as well as supportive housing programs both onsite and in the community. The Overnight Emergency Shelter is available to adults in need of housing, while the Family Shelter is open to families with children. There is no limit on the time for someone to stay at Hesed House; however, most guests find housing within a few weeks.
Our Comprehensive Resource Center (CRC) is located across the street from the main Hesed House building, at 680 S. River St. This is where case management occurs, helping people with counseling through traumatic experiences, financial guidance, job guidance, and much more. In order to receive help from the programs offered through the CRC, guests of Hesed House first meet with a case manager.
